🔌 Repairs & Troubleshooting

Why do my lights flicker?

Flickering lights can be caused by loose connections, overloaded circuits, failing switches, or issues with your utility provider. We can diagnose the source and fix it safely.

What should I do if a circuit breaker keeps tripping?

A frequently tripping breaker usually indicates an overloaded circuit, a short circuit, or a faulty device. Avoid resetting it repeatedly and contact us for a safety inspection.

Why are some of my outlets not working?

This can be caused by tripped GFCI outlets, loose wiring, worn receptacles, or breaker issues. We can locate the cause and restore power safely.

What are signs of faulty or unsafe wiring?

Common signs include buzzing sounds, warm outlets, burning smells, discolored switches, flickering lights, or frequent breaker trips. If you notice any of these, call us immediately.

🏡 Upgrades & Installations

Can you replace or upgrade my electrical panel?

Yes. We upgrade panels to handle modern electrical loads, improve safety, and meet code requirements. This includes replacing outdated fuse boxes or undersized breaker panels.

Yes we can install ceiling fans, EV chargers, smart switches, thermostats, home automation devices, lighting controls, and more.

How do I know if I need to upgrade my home’s wiring?

Do you install outdoor or landscape lighting?

Yes. We can install energy-efficient outdoor, patio, pathway, and security lighting designed to enhance safety and curb appeal.

Many older homes are not. We can perform a full electrical safety inspection to identify risks and recommend upgrades to bring your home up to modern standards.

How can I make my home’s electrical system safer?

Safety improvements may include adding GFCI/AFCI protection, upgrading your panel, replacing old wiring, installing surge protection, and checking for grounding issues.

What are GFCI and AFCI outlets, and do I need them?

GFCIs protect against electrical shock, and AFCIs prevent electrical fires. They are required in many areas of the home by modern codes. We can assess and install the proper protection.

Energy Efficiency

Can you help lower my energy bill?

Yes. Upgrades like LED lighting, smart controls, efficient appliances, and panel updates can reduce energy use. We can evaluate your home and suggest cost-effective improvements.

Should I switch to LED lighting?

LEDs use less energy, last longer, and produce less heat, so they can be the simplest ways to improve home efficiency.

Do you install whole-home surge protectors?

Yes. A whole-home surge protector shields your electrical system and appliances from voltage spikes, including lightning and utility surges.

🧰 During the Visit

Do I need to be home during the appointment?

For most jobs, yes. If the work is outside or in an accessible area, arrangements may be made, but being available helps answer questions and ensure the work meets your needs.

How long will the work take?

Small repairs often take under an hour, while larger projects—such as panel upgrades or rewiring—may take several hours or more. We will give you a clear time estimate beforehand.

Will there be any power outages while you work?

Some tasks do require shutting off power to specific circuits or the entire home. We will let you know in advance before turning anything off, so you can plan accordingly.

Your Rights as a Pennsylvania Homeowner

Pennsylvania does not prohibit homeowners from doing electrical work on their own property. Repairing outlets, switches, adding lights, adding an outlet or replacing a breaker are all within your rights as a homeowner. More advanced work may require a permit - this is so that a qualified inspector can double check your work and make sure its safe and up to par. Most inspectors are very nice and will tell you exactly what you need to pass their inspection, so don't be discouraged from consulting your local electrical inspector - they likely wont draw blue prints for you, but they will tell you exactly what needs done to pass the inspection during their visit.

Please note that simply because you are the homeowner does not make you qualified to make electrical repairs in your home. Click here to view PA code 403.42
